Lakshmi Ammal

Lakshmi Ammal (1918–1985) was a veena artist from the Karaikudi tradition. She was the daughter-in-law of Karaikudi Subbarama Iyer, having married his son Karaikudi Sambasiva Iyer. She settled in Madurai where she taught and performed, and was the mother of renowned veena player Karaikudi S. Subramanian.
