Meenakshi Ammal

Meenakshi Ammal was an exponent of the Karaikudi Veena tradition and daughter-in-law of the legendary Karaikudi Subbarama Iyer. She was based in the Dindigul-Madurai region of Tamil Nadu, where she taught and performed veena music. Her work helped preserve and transmit the Karaikudi bani in the region during an important transitional period for the tradition.
