Shashank Subramanyam

Shashank Subramanyam (born 14 October 1978, Rudrapatna, Karnataka) is a bamboo flautist widely regarded as one of the foremost Carnatic flute masters of his generation, known for developing the Multi Flute Fingering technique. A child prodigy who made his Music Academy SADAS concert debut at twelve — a record that stands unbroken — he received the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres from the Government of France (2022) and the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in addition to the Kalaimamani. He is based between Bengaluru and Chennai and performs globally.
