Anoor Anantha Krishna Sharma

Anoor Anantha Krishna Sharma (born 1965) is an eminent Carnatic mridangam artist from Bengaluru, Karnataka, born into a family of musicians with his father Anoor Ramakrishna being a violinist at Bangalore University. Initiated into mridangam by Vidwan Late Sri R.A. Rajagopal of All India Radio, he began performing professionally at age fifteen and has since accompanied leading artists including T.M. Krishna, Jayanthi Kumaresh, M.S. Sheela, and C. Honnappa Bhagavathar. He has received the "Best Mridangam Artist" award from the Madras Music Academy (1996) and "Ganakala Shri" (2005) from the Karnataka Ganakala Parishat. Besides mridangam, he is also proficient in dolu, tabla, and pakhawaj.
