Arati Rao

Dr. Arati N. Rao is a highly accomplished musicologist, researcher, and performing Carnatic veena artist based in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Born in September 1971, she trained under renowned gurus like R.K. Srinivasamurthy and specializes in the traditional Mysore Bani style of veena playing. She holds a Doctorate in Musicology from the University of Mysore, won the All India Radio national competition in 2010, and was awarded the prestigious Musicologist Award by the Music Academy, Madras. Currently, she serves as an Assistant Professor and Coordinator of Music at JAIN University.
