B.R. Somashekar Jois

B.R. Somashekar Jois is an A grade Carnatic konnakol artist empanelled with Akashvani (All India Radio) Bengaluru, on its rolls since 2013. A leading exponent of konnakkol (the vocal recitation of Carnatic percussion syllables) as well as a mridangam artist and vocalist, he is the founder of the World Konnakkol Academy, an institution dedicated to the art form, and has performed and taught konnakkol widely in India and abroad. Based in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
