Devaki Pandit

Devaki Pandit (born 1965) is a Hindustani classical vocalist and playback singer from Maharashtra, and a recipient of the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award (2022) for Hindustani vocal. She began training at age nine under Pt. Vasantrao Kulkarni and studied further with her mother Usha Pandit and the maestros Vidushi Kishori Amonkar and Pt. Jitendra Abhisheki, drawing on the Jaipur-Atrauli and Agra gharana traditions. Renowned for her khayal, thumri, bhajan and abhang, she has also sung playback in Hindi and Marathi cinema, winning the Maharashtra State Film Award for best female playback singer four times, and has collaborated with artists such as Hridaynath Mangeshkar and Ustad Zakir Hussain.
