A disciple of Smt. Suguna Purushothaman and Sangeetha Kalanidhi Smt. M.S. Sheela, Gayatri's mellifluous voice and scholarly command have enthralled audiences worldwide. She has received numerous prestigious honours, including the Sangeetha Kalanidhi from the Music Academy, Chennai.
