Geetha Ramanand

Geetha Ramanand is a Top grade Carnatic veena artist empanelled with Akashvani (All India Radio) Bengaluru, on its rolls since 2011, and a retired staff artist of the station; she is a Top grade veena artiste of AIR and Doordarshan with over five decades in Karnatak classical music. Trained and teaching in the Mysore style of veena, she has mentored many students who are themselves graded AIR artists and National Cultural Scholarship holders. During her AIR service she initiated, wrote, directed and produced music programmes, notably for the Amrithavarshini classical music channel of AIR Bengaluru, and her feature production 'Nalegalu Namagirali' won second place in the Akashvani annual awards in 2002. She is the founder trustee of the Swaraveenalaya Centre for Performing Arts. Based in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
