Gurucharan Garud (Gurucharan D. Garud) is an eminent Indian Hindustani classical tabla virtuoso, concert accompaniment artist, and innovative rhythmic educator based in Peenya, Bengaluru, Karnataka. Born into an illustrious musical lineage, he is the son of the late legendary senior tabla maestro and Hindustani classical musician Pandit D.S. Garud. With a teaching career spanning over four decades, he is highly regarded for developing "Garud Ganith"—a unique pedagogical methodology that correlates mathematical formulas and arithmetic calculations directly with traditional tabla compositions and complex tihais. He is officially empanelled as a B-High grade Hindustani Tabla artist on the active broadcasting rolls of Akashvani (All India Radio), Bengaluru since 1994. Alongside performing in prestigious regional frameworks like the Parijnana Kala Samarpanam assemblies and accompanying prominent instrumentalists and vocalists, he continues to pass on the heritage of classical percussion to advanced global students through the Sangeetha Kala Bhavan academy
