Indudhar Nirody

Indudhar Nirody is a Top grade Hindustani khayal vocal artist empanelled with Akashvani (All India Radio) Bengaluru, on its rolls since 2012, based in Karnataka. Born on 11 July 1935 in Puttur, Dakshina Kannada, into a family of musicians, he trained in the Agra gharana khayal style, initially under Gawai Pitre Ramarao and later, over two decades in Mumbai, under Acharya S.C.R. Bhat, Acharya K.G. Ginde, Pt. Dinkar Kaikini and Pt. Chidananda Nagarkar. He won first prize in the All India Radio national music competition in 1955, and was honoured with the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award (2014) and an honorary doctorate from Dr. Gangubai Hangal Music University (2015).
