K Ravichandra Kullur

Ravichandra Kulur (Kullur) is a Bengaluru-based flautist who is an 'A' graded artist of All India Radio and Doordarshan. Initiated into Carnatic music at age six, he first trained in mridangam and kanjira under E. P. Narayana Pishardi before taking up the flute under his father, Prof. K. Raghavendra Rao, giving solo concerts from around the age of nine. His music blends Carnatic tradition with world and fusion idioms, and in 2005 Pandit Ravi Shankar invited him to join his 'Festival of India' concerts. He has performed extensively internationally, appearing at venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center and the Sydney Opera House.
