Kalapini Komkali

Kalapini Komkali (born 12 March 1966, Dewas, Madhya Pradesh) is a Hindustani classical vocalist and a recipient of the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award 2023 for Hindustani Vocal. The daughter and disciple of Pt. Kumar Gandharva and Vidushi Vasundhara Komkali, she was trained by both parents and performs khayal, thumri, dadra and bhajan in a style that blends Malwa folk idioms with the classical tradition. She is an active trustee of the Kumar Gandharva Sangeet Academy, continuing her father's musical legacy.
