Kiran Yavagal

Kiran Yavagal (Kiran R. Yavagal) is an A grade Hindustani tabla artist empanelled with Akashvani (All India Radio) Bengaluru, on its rolls since 2018. Born into a musical family, he is the son and disciple of the noted tabla player Pt. Ravindra Yavagal and also trained under Udayraj Karpur, M. Nagesh and Pt. Sheshagiri Hangal, later studying with Pt. Yogesh Samsi; he holds a Master's degree in tabla with distinction from the Karnataka State Dr. Gangubai Hangal University for Music and Performing Arts. Based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, he is an A grade artist of AIR and Doordarshan and has accompanied leading musicians including Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia, Pt. Birju Maharaj and Pt. Ajay Pohankar.
