Kumar Bose

Kumar Bose (born 1953) is a top tabla player of the Banaras Gharana and a Padma Shri awardee (2026), known for powerful playing and skill with complex rhythms. The son and disciple of Pandit Biswanath Bose, he later trained under Pandit Kishan Maharaj and gave his first public performance at the age of four. He received the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 2007, is a respected teacher, and has performed worldwide with leading Hindustani musicians.
