Meeta Pandit

Meeta Pandit is a Hindustani vocalist of the Gwalior Gharana and a sixth-generation musician in its unbroken family lineage, and the first woman in the family to take up music professionally. The granddaughter and disciple of Padma Bhushan Krishnarao Shankar Pandit and daughter of Sangeet Natak Akademi awardee Laxman Krishnarao Pandit, she began training at age three. Now based in Mumbai, where she heads the Maya Somaiya School of Music and Performing Arts, she has performed in over 25 countries and received honours including the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar (2007) and the Kumar Gandharva Rashtriya Samman (2021).
