Omkar Rao

Vidwan G. Omkar Rao is a Bengaluru-based Carnatic classical percussionist known for his expertise in the Ghatam. He received his musical training under Vidwan Chandrashekar and Vidwan T.A.S. Mani and studied Ghatam under renowned artist Vidushi Sukanya Ramgopal. With over two decades of stage experience, Omkar Rao has performed at numerous Carnatic music concerts and cultural festivals. He has accompanied accomplished musicians, including Dr. Pantula Rama, and has performed alongside leading Mridangam artists. His rhythmic precision and understanding of tala have made him an experienced accompanist in the Carnatic music tradition.
