Parween Sultana

Begum Parveen Sultana (born 24 May 1950, Nagaon district, Assam) is a celebrated Hindustani classical vocalist of the Patiala Gharana, renowned for a voice spanning nearly four and a half octaves. She received early training from her father Ikramul Majid and from Pt. Chinmoy Lahiri, and later became a disciple of Ustad Dilshad Khan, whom she married. Her honours include the Padma Shri (1976), the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award (1998) and the Padma Bhushan (2014).
