Prabir Bhattacharya

Prabir Bhattacharya is an A grade Hindustani sitar artist empanelled with Akashvani (All India Radio) Bengaluru, on its rolls since 2019. He belongs to the Maihar gharana as a disciple of sitar maestro Pandit Deepak Choudhury (himself a senior disciple of Pandit Ravi Shankar), holds BA (Hons) and MA degrees in music from Rabindra Bharati University, and is a recipient of the Sangeet Ratna and Nirodbaran awards. He has performed in India and abroad and has served as a visiting faculty member at the Sri Sathya Sai Mirpuri College of Music, Puttaparthi. Based in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
