Arun Kashalkar

Pandit Arun Kashalkar (born 1943) is a renowned senior Hindustani vocalist based in Mumbai whose gayaki blends the Gwalior, Jaipur and Agra styles with an emphasis on the Agra gharana. First trained by his father N. D. Kashalkar, he became a leading disciple of Gajananrao Joshi and the Agra master Babanrao Haldankar, and has composed over 150 bandishes under the pen-name 'Rasdaas.' His honours include the 'Sangeet Ratna' of the Kashi Sangeet Samaj (2010) and the title 'Sangeetacharya.'
