Rajendra Nakod

Pandit Rajendra Nakod (born 10 October 1969, Karnataka) is a distinguished Hindustani tabla artist from a celebrated musical family — his father Pandit Arjunsa Nakod is a vocalist of the Kirana and Gwalior Gharanas, and his brothers Pt. Raghunath Nakod, Balachandra Nakod, and Vishwanath Nakod are artists at All India Radio. Trained by his father and brothers and formalised through exams by the Karnataka Sangeeta Nritya Academy, he has performed with Grammy award-winner Pt. Shivkumar Sharma and celebrated maestros at major festivals across India and internationally. His playing blends the conservative principles of the Hindustani tabla tradition with a dynamic contemporary stage presence, making him one of Karnataka's foremost tabla artistes.
