Sandhya Srinath

Sandhya Srinath is an A grade Carnatic violin artist empanelled with Akashvani (All India Radio) Bengaluru, on its rolls since 1992 as one of its early A-grade awardees. Based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, she is a gold medallist in her master's degree in music who absorbed the styles of the maestros Lalgudi G. Jayaraman and Prof. T.N. Krishnan, carrying forward the school of the late V. Janakiraman of AIR Delhi. Over a career spanning more than 30 years she has performed as a soloist and accompanied senior musicians and dancers, and has been honoured with titles such as 'Nada Brahma Kalabhooshanam' and 'Vaadhya Kala Bharati', the Best Young Violinist award (Chennai), and Individual Artist awards from the Maryland State Arts Council.
