Sangeetha Shankar

Dr. Sangeeta Shankar is a world-class Hindustani classical violinist and the daughter and chief disciple of Padma Vibhushan Dr. N. Rajam. She began training at the age of four and has carried forward the Gayaki Ang style — reproducing the nuances of the human voice on the violin — pioneered by her mother. She has performed extensively across the globe and is admired for her melodic intensity, emotional depth, and technical mastery. She has passed the tradition to her daughters Ragini Shankar and Nandini Shankar, making their family one of the most celebrated musical dynasties in India.
