Santhosh R Hegde

Santhosh Hegde (professionally recognized as Santhosh Hegade Kalmane) is a highly accomplished Indian Hindustani classical tabla player, percussion tutor, and corporate supply chain executive based in Bengaluru, Karnataka. He initiated his foundational training in classical percussion under the guidance of Vidwan Bhaskar Hegde at an early age. For his advanced rhythm execution (Talim), he entered the tutelage of Pandit Madivalayya Sali, deeply mastering the intricate stylistic semantics of the Benaras Gharana lineage, and currently continues his guidance under the renowned tabla maestro Pandit Udayraj Karpoor. He balances his artistic commitments with a technical profession, holding a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Electrical Engineering from RV College of Engineering (RVCE), Bengaluru, and working professionally as a General Manager. Santhosh is officially empanelled as a B-High grade Hindustani Tabla artist on the broadcasting rolls of Akashvani (All India Radio) Bengaluru since 2019, frequently accompanying prominent Hindustani vocalists and instrumentalists in commercial studios and live music assemblies.
