Sumesh Narayanan

Sumesh Narayanan is an award-winning Carnatic mridangam artist and music producer from Chennai, Tamil Nadu, with over two decades of training under Sangita Kalanidhi Dr. Thiruvaarur Bakthavathsalam. Known for his dynamic playing style that bridges classical fidelity with experimental openness, he has accompanied leading artists including Bombay Jayashri, Abhishek Raghuram, S. Sowmya, and Sikkil Gurucharan. He is a key member of the fusion bands IndoSoul and Sparsh, and appeared in the film Sarvam Thaala Mayam (2019) directed by Rajiv Menon with music by A.R. Rahman. As a producer, he brings a distinctive blend of Carnatic percussion and contemporary soundscapes to his creative projects.
