Trichur Mohan

Trichur R. Mohan is a veteran Carnatic mridangam vidwan from Thrissur (Trichur), Kerala, celebrated as the father and first guru of the renowned Trichur Brothers vocal duo. He began learning mridangam from Shri Koduvayoor Radhakrishnan and was quickly recognised for his exceptional talent when chosen to accompany the legendary vocalist Chembai Vaidyanatha Bhagavathar. Chembai honoured him on stage with the title "Sangeetha Lokathil Dhruvan" (the Dhruva of the music world), a testament to his rapid mastery. He has had a distinguished career accompanying great names in Carnatic music and has shaped the musical education of his celebrated sons.
