Trichy B. Harikumar

Trichy B. Harikumar is a veteran Carnatic mridangam vidwan based in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, hailing originally from Changanasery, Kerala. He was trained in the bani of the late mridangam maestro Palakkad Shri Mani Iyer by his illustrious guru Mavelikkara Shri Velukkutty Nair. A top-ranked A-grade artist of All India Radio, he has accompanied distinguished musicians including K.V. Narayanaswamy, Dr. M. Balamuralikrishna, P.S. Narayanaswamy, and Madurai T.N. Seshagopalan for over three decades. He also conducts seminars and workshops on mridangam and is a beloved guru who has trained numerous students in the Carnatic percussion tradition.
