Palghat Ramprasad

Palghat Ramprasad is a Carnatic vocalist based in Chennai who specialises in praacheena (ancient classical) music rooted in the compositions and styles of pre-1970s masters. He is particularly renowned for his mastery of niraval, the demanding improvisational technique that simultaneously weaves melody, rhythm, and creativity. He performs extensively across India and abroad, and runs a music school.
