    About the Event

The 49th Gokulashtami Celebrations 2026 continues its annual series of Carnatic music performances with a vocal recital by Palakad Ramprasad on 17 August 2026 at Odukkathur Mutt, Bengaluru. Organised by Unnati, the concert forms part of the festival's long-standing tradition of presenting leading Carnatic musicians in a devotional setting during the Gokulashtami celebrations.

Palakad Ramprasad is recognised for his traditional Carnatic repertoire, manodharma, and expressive presentation of kritis. His concerts are known for their balance of classical depth, raga elaboration, niraval, swara improvisation, and adherence to the concert tradition. The recital will feature a selection of compositions from the Carnatic classical repertoire, accompanied by experienced percussion and violin artists.

He will be accompanied by Trivandrum N. Sampath on violin, Trivandrum V. Balaji on mridangam, and G. Guru Prasanna on khanjira, bringing together melodic and rhythmic excellence in the classical Carnatic concert format.

Presented as part of UTSAV 2026 – 49th Gokulashtami Celebrations, the concert contributes to Unnati's continuing efforts to promote Indian classical music while bringing renowned musicians and audiences together through one of Bengaluru's established annual music festivals.
