Trichur Brothers

The Trichur Brothers — Srikrishna Mohan and Ramkumar Mohan — are world-renowned Carnatic vocalists from Thrissur (Trichur), Kerala, celebrated for their unique style of raga delineation in which both brothers exchange phrases equally, a mode hitherto unseen in duo concerts. Their father Trichur R. Mohan, a veteran mridangam vidwan, was their first guru; they later trained under Madurai Shrimati Balamani Eswar, Thamarakkadu Govindan Namboothiri, Late Prof. Neyyattinkara Mohanachandran, and Padma Bhushan Sri P.S. Narayanaswamy for over a decade. Their moniker was bestowed by His Holiness Jayendra Saraswathi of the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham. They have performed in over 30 North American cities and at international venues including the Sydney Music Festival 2015.
