    About the Event

The 49th Gokulashtami Celebrations 2026 continues its annual series of Carnatic music performances with a vocal recital by Ramakrishnan Murthy on 16 August 2026 at Odukkathur Mutt, Bengaluru. Organised by Unnati, the concert is part of the festival's long-standing commitment to presenting leading exponents of Carnatic classical music during the Gokulashtami celebrations.

Recognised for his traditional approach to Carnatic music and detailed exploration of ragas and kritis, Ramakrishnan Murthy has performed at major music festivals and sabhas in India and abroad. His concert at the festival will feature a repertoire rooted in the Carnatic classical tradition, highlighting improvisation, compositional depth, and devotional expression.

He will be accompanied by Vittal Rangan on violin, N. C. Bharadwaj on mridangam, and Vazhappally Krishnakumar on ghatam, bringing together melody and rhythm in the classical Carnatic concert format.

Presented at Odukkathur Mutt, the recital forms part of the 49th Gokulashtami Celebrations, an annual festival that showcases Indian classical music through performances by distinguished musicians in a devotional and cultural setting.
