    About the Event

Barkha Ritu 2026 is part of Banyan Tree's annual monsoon music festival, a concert series inspired by the rich musical traditions associated with the rainy season. Celebrating its 25th edition, the festival continues to bring together distinguished artists from both Hindustani and Carnatic classical music, presenting concerts built around the beauty, emotion, and seasonal character of monsoon ragas. The Bengaluru edition will be held at Chowdiah Memorial Hall, offering audiences an evening that reflects the diversity and depth of Indian classical music. This concert features an exceptional line-up of artists. Renowned Carnatic flautist Shashank Subramanyam brings his expressive flute artistry to the festival, while acclaimed Hindustani vocalist Dr Ashwini Bhide Deshpande, a leading exponent of the Jaipur-Atrauli Gharana, presents a classical vocal recital. The evening also includes a performance by Pandit Sanjeev Abhyankar, one of the foremost vocalists of the Mewati Gharana, known for his khayal and devotional music. Together, the artists represent some of the finest traditions of Indian classical music.
